About Jonathan

Jonathan is a passionate music educator and advocate for classical thinking, with over 20 years of experience in integrating time-tested classical principles into both music education and broader aspects of modern life. Holding a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy and a Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition from Mississippi College, his approach to teaching blends music theory, performance, and historical context, with a focus on fostering creativity, critical thinking, and practical application. Specializing in partimento concepts, Jonathan helps students of all ages engage with music not only as an art form but as a pathway to developing skills that can enrich personal and intellectual growth across various disciplines. His teaching philosophy reflects his belief in the power of classical approaches to deepen understanding, cultivate discipline, and inspire lifelong learning.

Beyond his expertise in music, Jonathan is deeply invested in the idea that classical thinking—rooted in the rich traditions of logic, rhetoric, and ethical reflection—can serve as a transformative framework for modern life. By applying classical methods of problem-solving, critical analysis, and thoughtful reflection, he guides students in finding meaning and purpose in their everyday lives, whether in personal decision-making, professional pursuits, or creative expression. A lifelong student of both the piano and historical pedagogy, Jonathan seeks to bridge the gap between the wisdom of classical traditions and the dynamic, fast-paced world we live in today. Through his work, he aims to inspire others to draw on classical ideas to navigate the complexities of modern life with clarity and purpose.
